“Here, a matching ring for my husband,” Yuki says, and Agustín lets the older take his hand on silent command. There’s a small smile forming on Agustín’s lips as Yuki furrows his brows in concentration as he slides the metal onto Agustín’s ring finger.
“Is this a proposal?” quips Agustín.
Yuki’s mouth goes dry as he touches the matching silver encircled around his own ring finger. He turns around a bit too quickly, hyperaware of his bundler. The words tumbling out of his lips teeter as he says, unconvincingly, “I’m supporting local businesses, Agus.”
The Ishikawa-Loser household is vibrant, busy and complex. But Agustín and Yuki make do as they've always done.
