It all started in 2011 when Max and Joe were racing in go-karts against each other. Joe was only 11, Max was almost 14, it made the fact that Max lost against Joe even worse. Max's dad isn't the type of guy to just tell you „You'll just do better next time." Jos is the type of dad to scream at you for failing, to never be proud of you. When Joe won against Max, his dad dropped him off at a gas station. Alone. At night. In Italy. Max didn't quite get it at first, but as soon as he realized his dad wasn't coming back, he just wanted to curl up in a ball and cry. He sat on the ground in front of the gas station when a black Mercedes pulled up and Joe jumped out of the car. It changed their relationship, not into something positive. Joe was arrogant, a rich son of a bitch. Max didn't like him before aswell, but that night made everything a thousand times worse. He forgot about Joe when he started racing in Formula 1. But his anger boiled up again as Joe joined the grid in 2019. He still had that arrogant brighter than the sun smirk, the tall figure which Max always wished he had. The almost disney-prince-like face, it's impossible to look like that.
