Summary
“Oh, you’re with the catering company?” Tommy asks him, looking mildly surprised.
“We flame to please you.” Evan responds automatically, watching in slight horror as Tommy’s eyebrow ticks up in amusement. “Th-that’s our motto! We’re De-Lighted Fine Catering, we flame to please you, it’s all a pun.” He says quickly, feeling his face turning red from embarrassment.
“So, do you flame to please me? Or do you just say that to all the guys you meet in coffee shops?”

Summary
“What the hell were you thinking?!” Buck asks, loud and angry. He’s shaking. He’s so afraid, and he’s tired of it.
Eddie doesn’t meet his eyes. Keeps one hand pressed against the no doubt bruised ribs–images of the bridge collapse flashing before Buck’s mind, along with every time he’d been terrified that he might have lost Eddie–and looks down at his duffle bag, open on the bench between them.
“I did what I had to do to make sure you and the others got out safe,” Eddie tells him quietly.
Buck takes a step. One step. It’s all he can manage without giving into the urge to grab Eddie by the shoulders and shake him violently, begging and pleading for him to look Buck in the eyes.
“What about you, Eddie? Why didn’t you think about you?”
Eddie swallows, thick and audible, bouncing off the tension between them to make it even louder. And then he shrugs.
“Didn’t seem as important at the time.”***
When Eddie gets reckless at a scene, Buck doesn't understand why, until Eddie makes a confession he can't take back...not that he would want to.
