Summary
Before he becomes a dedicated researcher at Viktor Chondria University, and long after the traumatic summer of 2010, Okabe follows Kurisu overseas to the United States, deciding to take college seriously so that he can study with other brilliant minds and preserve the sacred worldline.
He spends his time living as roommates in California, researching at one of Viktor Chondria's satellite campuses where Kurisu is employed. Having left both joyous and harrowing memories behind, he works to try to grow bigger than his overwhelming post-traumatic stress; measure up to Kurisu's brilliance with the dream of proposing to her; and host an old neighbor he used to tutor (Subaru Natsuki) - sent over for the summer by his parents in hopes he'll catch Okabe's "contagion of academic passion."
This work is planned as a limited series with a couple chapters.
I'm writing this out of my own passion for the fandom, but also as practice for my current original story, PARAGATE.

Year 2036 - Operation Skuld was a success! Rintaro Okabe was able to guide his past self toward saving Kurisu Makise and making the Steins Gate Worldline a reality. However, 26 years later, Reading Steiner inexplicably activates and the memories that Okabe built with his friends and loved ones are replaced with those of himself from the Beta Worldline where he failed and gave up.

A new tragedy strikes when Kagari Shiina appears and Maho Hiyajo must contact her friend for help with Amadeus, and Okabe must face his fears of time travel once more.
