Summary
Come to think of it, it’s not like Ron was being subtle at all. Rather, the problem lies in Toto being dense.
Toto and denseness seemed to go hand in hand. While Toto is naturally observant, able to gather a bunch of clues with thorough examination, he wasn’t able to piece those clues together to create a coherent deduction. It’s endearing to Ron but annoying to others–especially for his superiors, Amamiya specifically.
But he’s been improving. Toto under his tutelage was able to witness how Ron could deduct efficiently and quickly. He might have been able to pick up something from countless deductions they made. That was his partner! Toto will flourish in no time and although he might not surpass Ron when it comes to skill, he’d still become one of the best detectives in the world! Ron was certain of it.
But the problem now lies in non-detective work.
Toto was unbelievably, undeniably, surprisingly dense when it came to personal matters–most especially in matters of the heart!
