Summary
Even when silent, Lucanis could feel the demon at his side, staring at the door that kept them both from the man who had consumed their thoughts ever since they had first met. He hadn’t anticipated what this sort of infatuation might do to Spite. Locked away in the Ossuary, Lucanis’ thoughts had prowled around vengeance and vengeance alone. And then Rook had shown up.
---
The world might be ending but for Lucanis, it came back to life when the door to his prison in the Ossuary was shattered.
A series of vignettes further expanding on romance scenes (and some originals) from DA:V because we were robbed of it in the game and I have zero chill about Lucanis. -

Summary
Returning Varric home was the perfect excuse to get away from Tevinter. There, Serani would meet the people whom he called family, gain new allies, learn new abilities that would help in the trials to come, and finally start opening up about her past.
However, the ever-looming threat of the blood mage is ever-felt and danger is never far behind. And in Kirkwall, you better have some trusted folks to watch your back. Lest you find a knife in it.

Summary
Rook’s gaze locks with Lucanis’. The women are engrossed in their own conversation, now. The wisps have converged like fireflies, overtaking every edge of Lucanis’ vision. Neve laughs – let’s build traps! Bellara hops in place – yes, we can use your notes as bait! And in the center of it all – all Lucanis can think and feel and watch and long for –
Woodsmoke. Coffee. Wildflowers. Take them! Kiss them!
Lucanis jerks upright. Rook drops their eyes, smiling meekly, crossing their arms over their chest. They know. Lucanis knows.
Shit.

Summary
Stopping an ancient elven god from tearing down the Veil sounded a lot easier on paper than in practice. Then everything went to shit and there were two more ancient elven gods bent on destroying the world in the mix. Rook thought her hands were plenty full trying to stop the world from ending, but then she met Lucanis Dellamorte. Handsome, suave, skilled in the art of contract killing, and only a minor Abomination, he should have been the least of her worries. Yet he wasn't. There was something so terrifying about falling in love as the fate of the world was hanging in balance. It wasn't part of her strategy to find herself caring about the talented assassin.
Finally freed from his imprisonment, Lucanis agreed to help the small mage on her quest to save the world because he owed her a favour. Nothing more, nothing less. Certainly not because she was the most beautiful thing he'd ever seen. Definitely not because Spite actually listened to her and seemed to like her spitfire just as much as he did. She was just supposed to help him get revenge on his imprisoners. He wasn't supposed to have feelings for his client.
When there is everything to lose, how could love even be an option?

**VEILGUARD SPOILERS**
Lucanis cannot recall a time where he had everything he wanted, but for the last several weeks, he started to believe he was quite close. He wishes someone would have told him, scolded him even, for not only allowing hope like that to grow while facing a world-ending Blight, but being stupid enough to fall in love along the way.

In which I, like many others, felt the need to pad out extra scenes with our Rook and the Crow. Specifically with the Fade Prison.

Summary
The Demon of Vyrantium isn't the only one in the Veilguard with a demon living inside of them. And if Rook wants to survive this war, and maybe save the world, she'll have to keep hers hidden from him and the team.
Falling in love was not part of the plan.
(First bed scene Ch 9)Mostly following canon events with a non-canon compliant Abomination Rook de Riva. Slow burn. Smut pay-off. Eventual spoilers. Lucanis/Rook/Spite are all getting some action.
Update schedule: The backlog has been depleted. Hoping for a chapter every other day. No beta, no problem.

Summary
Spite doesn’t like these people, either. Lucanis is no fun, he knows that, but the rest? The Warden wants him dead, the dwarf smiles too much, talks to sweet but smells like fear. The dragon won’t show him their wings, the mages know too much, hear too much, tell him no, no, no—
Spite does like Rook, though. Quiet voice, pretty hair, smells good too, like lilies and honey. Tries to talk to him, tells Lucanis he needs to sleep, needs to rest, needs to let him out. Never says no. Never locks her door.
(Or: Lucanis falls asleep, Spite explores, and Rook indulges him.)

Summary
You speak through a fog, pink like blood in water. Your sleeves are soaked in blight up to the elbow, your hands gripping knives that cut and carve. It doesn’t matter that your arms are tired—from the battles it took to get here, from slaying a god, from this. How long have you been doing this? The boils and veins give way, bursting into black ichor. Somewhere within the guts of the Isle, you’ll find him.

Summary
Careful not to spook him, Rook approached the demon driving the love of her life's body. “Spite, stop,” she said firmly. “You're not taking Lucanis through the eluvian.”
“I could,” Spite growled, glaring at Taash. “If you would move.”Series

Summary
"Smells different," Spite commented, glaring at Lucanis as though her scent were his fault. "Like caramel. Soft." His mouth split in a grin. "She wants you. Us. Wake her!"
"No!" The word escaped Lucanis before he could keep it in. "Leave her be, Spite. Let her sleep."
The demon was wrong. Had to be wrong. Letting himself believe that Rook wanted him was too dangerous for both of them. Spite was his only possible future, and he couldn't afford to hope for anything more...

Summary
Lucanis braced one hand against the wall above her head, coming close. Rook didn't move, didn't back away. "This isn't a good idea," he warned, looking down at her through half-lidded eyes.
It was clear from the way she held his stare, from the way she lifted a hand and rested the tips of her fingers on his chest, that he'd not been imagining the reciprocation in desire he’d sensed. His heart seemed to skip half a dozen beats as she tipped her chin ever so slightly to better meet his stare. "Sometimes a bad idea is better," she countered.

Summary
“Lucanis,” Rook said carefully, her voice steady. “What’s happening?”
“The wings…” His voice was tight, raw with strain as his fingers dug into her waist. “They’re his. I—I can’t…”
Her eyes flicked from the glowing violet wings encircling them to Lucanis’ rigid posture, understanding settling across her face. “Well,” Rook muttered wryly, clearing her throat as her hands hovered near his chest. “If Spite's looking for a polite conversation, this isn’t the best way to start one.”
-Ch. 5
