Quando San já não acha que sua vida é ruim o bastante, ele acaba caindo no mar no meio da noite. Quando seus olhos se abrem, e ele acorda novamente, ele se pega tendo sido transmigrado para um mundo totalmente diferente do seu. Onde acabou preso em um navio antigo, com uma tripulação louca, e que para sua sorte (ou não), acabou descobrindo também que são os mais temidos e violentos de todos os sete mares. Depois de muito se perguntar que crime horrível havia cometido para tamanho castigo, San começa a descobrir que, na verdade, seu papel naquele mundo, e com aquelas pessoas, possa ser mais importante do que parece, e se vê preso em meio ao fogo cruzado, onde terá que escolher entre seguir seu coração egoísta e seu cérebro altruísta, entre o sentimento e a razão.
E é claro, no meio do caminho, ele acaba também descobrindo novas informações sobre este novo mundo, e as mudanças dolorosas que seu corpo sofrera como consequência.
