His gaze bore into Wade’s intensely and filled with heat, “I like you, Wade. A lot.”
Wade's smile dropped completely. He stared blankly at Logan, his expression unreadable. For a moment, Logan’s heart sank; he thought he’d crossed a line, that Wade would try to let him down easy with some joke.
But instead, Wade did something entirely unexpected.
He started laughing. The goddamn idiot started laughing.
Logan froze, his mouth parting slightly as he stared at Wade in disbelief. His hands remained lightly wrapped around Wade, uncertain if he should hold or let go. He didn’t know what to say or how to respond.
Eventually, the laughter died down, leaving behind an almost eerie quiet. Wade’s expression shifted, his haze turning serious and guarded. He looked at Logan, his eyes soft as he said quietly, “You don’t like me, Logan. Not like that.”
Or; The five times Logan showed Wade he loved him but Wade convinced himself otherwise and the one time Wade finally believed it.

She had seen not hell but humanity in war, and knew that she would never get a reprieve from its cruelties. So she continued to bring death wherever she went, a war dog without a purpose or a cage until the man upstairs came with a soothing hand.
But Lady Death still followed, and took her time before she claimed a bigger prize.
...if not now, then next time.
From beneath the rubble, Echo didn't find her reprieve. It was not hell but humanity that once again brought Lady Death to her side, but this time Echo did not seek for more blood to be shed. She let the dead rest, and when this stray had made a lonely home with the ghosts of the past did she find peace.
Together...
War dogs are rarely given rest, especially when they shouldn't exist.

Logan’s gaze trailed down Wade’s body, his usual web of scars now overlaid with angry bruises and deep cuts. Blood had seeped through the suit, staining his skin in streaks that made Logan’s stomach twist.
“Fucking hell, Wade,” Logan breathed out, his eyes wide with a mixture of horror and disbelief.
“It’s worse than it looks,” Wade said with a weak attempt at a grin, but even he winced, knowing how clearly untrue that was.
“God Wade,” Logan exhaled sharply, “Why do you do this to yourself? I don’t fucking get it.”
Wade looked away, his eyes refusing to meet Logan’s, shame etched into his face.
Or; Wade is always throwing himself in danger as he doesn't care what happens to his body because he can heal anyway. But Logan doesn't like seeing Wade hurt and hates that Wade does that to himself.

"Shall we release them now?" the person asked, and Logan nodded shortly. The person walked over to the cage and folded the blanket back on the side facing Logan. Then they bowed down to open a small opening in the cage.
Logan's eyes widened
"Oh, Wolvie," Wade mumbled. "What have you–"
Then he stopped talking because something entirely unthinkable happened.
Because out of the cage patted three very cute and very fluffy puppies. When they saw Logan, they barked happily before running to him and jumping up.
And Logan knelt down and opened his arms to catch them. His face broke up into the happiest, most candid smile that Wade had ever seen, and he closed his eyes and leaned into the touch, when one of the puppies shoved its nose up against his.
"What the fuuuck," it escaped Wade's lips.
