My first Whumptober attempt. Not sure if I completely understand the rules but let's roll 😎
There are four main storylines and a smattering of standalones. I'll note which ones are connected as they are posted.
On Thin Ice: An avalanche traps Finn and a rookie inside an Antarctic volcano, while Holley goes to save them.
Brainwashed: Finn's captors attempt to turn him into a sleeper agent.
Guardian: Lightning is forced to become a superhero and it's not very fun.
Assassin: Exactly what it sounds like 🫠

Pushing the door open, since the others were strangely occupied, the hauntingly mournful piece greeted him. They looked so absorbed in their own world, Finn’s white violin letting out a thin high melody, while Leland’s dark cello accompanied with perfect time.
They were in paradise, it seemed.
Someplace of their own that he could never find his way in.
None acknowledged his presence, their eyes both closed with content splashed across their features. He had lost his breath at this scene. His chest ached for something he didn’t know he was missing.
And in his heart he knew he would never be a part of their melody.
