Yuuri wakes to a muted world. His alarm is going off somewhere to his right but it echoes like part of a long-forgotten dream so it takes him a moment to realize, fumbling to turn it off. There’s light rolling in through his window and he watches his ceiling fan lazily spin.
He feels like he should be doing something but his eyes feel crusty and his mouth is too warm. He sits, taking in the wave of vertigo that emerges when he does so. He presses both palms into his eyes, rubbing hard as heat rolls down his spine.
Or...Yuuri's never been good at listening to his body. Viktor's there to see the fall-out.

Viktor barely lifts his eyes from his phone to the window of the cafe, light droplets of said rain tap the glass. "Ah. Just a drizzle. It'll clear before we leave."
Yuuri hums in acknowledgment. Viktor could probably tell from his expression, if not his lack of answer, that the words aren't believed.
Blue eyes meets brown, narrowed with suspicion, and an unspoken bet is formed. Yuuri taps his fingers around his cup, half full of jasmine tea. He could finish it slow enough, for Viktor's sake.

Yuuri thinks that all things considered, he’s been braving the cold quite valiantly, but the stress of moving catches up to him eventually and feasts on his vulnerable immune system. His poor, innocent immune system, away from home, in an unfamiliar environment, his future uncertain at best, constantly shrouded in the coldest cold he’s ever felt, no matter how many jackets and hats and scarves and mittens Viktor piles on him.
(Plus, he’s coming to terms with the fact that his Russian sucks.)
Yuuri just wants to bury himself in his soft comforter and not do anything, ever, for the rest of his life.
