So maybe you will skip the training bullshit and come to my office?”Leno's world changes one night when he loses his family in a Kaiju attack - everything that happens later seems to be a consequence of that moment. He struggles with survivor guilt and loneliness, learning that he has to deal with everything alone. It slowly starts to change when he joins JAKDF and then, after defeating Kaiju no 9 - he meets Captain Narumi of the First Division. And although it seems they are as different as possible, they slowly learn that they have much more in common than anyone could imagine. Will they fall in love and manage to help each other heal?

Kafka’s decision to hide his Kaiju transformation from Hoshina was a decision taken out of love and when the truth is exposed, everything falls apart and Hoshina is dragged into the fallout, accused of being complicit despite his innocence. He is put to the ultimate test... a test he is not backing down from because if there was one thing Hoshina was going to do, it was to get back his idiot. Everyone else be damned.
“I'll get out of here” the laugh that met Kafka's ears was soft, and at this point, after so many days and nights. Kafka wanted to laugh at his absurd optimism as well... saying that had become a ritual for him, even though he was beginning to lose faith in the words he spoke.
“you truly are adorable Kaiju no8” the voice chilled him to the bone “if those words give you comfort, go ahead and say them, I encourage you to say them every morning, every afternoon and every night, say them when you breath in and out, but I do advice you against holding your breath”
