The subway’s packed, which is absolutely ridiculous for 2 in the afternoon, but it is and he’s sweaty and his clothes feel sticky and he aches all over. He just needs to get this over with and then he can get back to work and eventually, get home and take a nice long, hot shower.

The class breaks into loud chuckles at Prof Gupta’s attempt at a tennis analogy, but it’s not that alone which has appealed to Henry. He knows, as all of us intuitively do, that not all love is the same. Adoration is different from desire, is different from tenderness, is different from friendship.
