The year is 2005. Lara Croft is searching for her mother, who she thinks is alive but transported to the fabled Avalon (that is, after the events of TR: Legend, but before and interwoven with TR: Underworld). The Middleman and his protege, Wendy "Dubbie" Watson are seeing an uptick in Ancient magic awakening, and are dealing with this as their employer, the Organization Too Secret To Know (O2STK) directs. Aya Brea, still an agent of the Mitochondrial Investigation and Suppression Team (now part of Homeland Security following 9/11), is seeing new outbreaks of Neo-Mitochondrial Creatures (NMC's). How do all these things fit together? Well....
