When one door closes, another opens. So it shall be for Yancy Ruuko, an ex-megastar of the Unova Region who found love early with the most eligible bachelor, Nate. Like many first relationships and through no fault of their own, it didn't work out. Still, Yancy wasn’t about to give up without at least trying to fight for their relationship, even if it meant defeating Nate in the Pokemon League Challenge.
She gave up her promising career as Unova’s chicest of the chic with a heart full of hope, love, and the will to do whatever it took to win back her love. There is just one problem: Yancy is still a noob when it comes to battling. She needed a teacher, someone with Champion-Level qualifications and who could find the time to take her under their wing. Her prayers were answered by the grace of Arceus, Kyurem, or perhaps something that transcended the concept of Pokemon altogether.
