But he rubbed her finger again and when she glanced down she saw the ring on it. It was simple, a gold band with a small diamond that gleamed brightly. If she’d ever cared about that kind of thing, this was definitely the kind of ring she would have chosen to wear.
“Oh my god,” she breathed, her eyes going wide as she looked up at him. “This…this is all real, isn’t it?”
He nodded, and her entire world came crumbling down around her as she realized she could deny it no longer.
