I decided to continue what was originally a one shot because I like feelings to accompany my smut.
Also, Susan and Jackson are most certainly not on good terms in this story.

Summary
Jackson is tired of being dragged out of his home at all hours of the day to attend to Reid's demands and decides to see how far he can push the Inspector.
This could be seen as mildly dubious consent, but I try to make it obvious the act is mutual.

Summary
“She’s hurt you badly this time, love,” Susan murmurs sadly, but her voice is without judgement. Everyone has their own vice, their own addiction, and it's pointless trying to part them from it before they’re ready.

Summary
Reid’s breath caught in his throat. Jackson was always breathtaking to him if he gave himself enough time to consider it (which he almost always resolutely didn’t) but catching a glimpse of him now stopped his breath, felt like it stopped his heart entirely.
It was only a moment, such a brief moment, but he was sure it was Jackson’s face he saw looking right at him from the opposite side of the theatre hall. Jackson, who’d been dead just over a month now. Jackson, who took a piece of Reid’s heart with him when he left for America and an even bigger piece when he died so suddenly, so unfairly, six months later.
It was only a moment, and then it was gone, all the sounds and smells around him surging back into sharp clarity as somebody broke his line of sight and his vision of Jackson disappeared entirely.

Summary
“You–” Reid broke off, a small, frustrated sound coming from the back of his throat before he put his drink aside and turned his whole body towards Jackson, legs awkwardly tucked up behind him, expression open and earnest and unexpectedly raw. “I don’t need you to be good or nice to be worth a damn, Jackson. I need you to be clever, I need you to be loyal, I need you to be you, exactly as you are. Fuck nice and fuck good.” Jackson snorted, surprised to hear Reid curse, but before he could comment on it, Reid continued. “You are many, many things, Captain Jackson, not all of them good. But I believe you have a heart bigger and purer than most, I believe you have good intentions, I believe you would go to the ends of the earth for those you love. You are loyal to a fault and I would have you by my side, in my corner, until the day I die.”

Summary
Jackson’s throat worked hard as he swallowed once, twice, three times, tilting his head upward so Reid could no longer see his expression. When his eyes at last met Reid’s again, they were red-rimmed and watery, and he looked almost as broken as Reid himself felt.
“I just—“ he broke off, taking a deep, shaky breath. “You shoulda come to me. Or Drake. You—“ another shuddering breath. “I can’t lose you like that, y’hear me?”

Summary
The sound was loud, sharp, piercing. Unmistakable. Jackson felt his heart drop to his stomach before his brain had even fully registered what was going on. He turned to the source of the sound just in time to watch Reid go down, head hitting the pavement hard as he landed with a near-sickening crack that made Jackson’s stomach lurch.

Summary
“Jackson,” he started, hesitating. Sincerity, earnestness, emotion; none of it came easy to him. It left him feeling foolish and tongue tied, dim-witted in a way he never experienced in other areas of life. It was why he avoided moments such as these, yet he knew he owed Jackson an apology, a proper one, regardless of whether they could salvage this or not.

Summary
"This was not the first time he had been following her inside the orphanage with a heavy heart. Eight years ago, when he had to tell her that he knew the truth about Joshua Bloom’s murder but could do nothing about it, he had feared her reaction. Years later, a similar situation had fallen onto his brother – and again, there was nothing he could have done. And again, he feared her reaction."
Edmund’s musings as he walks Deborah back to the orphanage at the beginning of 4x05.
