He’s covered in cheap perfume, the kind they sell down by deptford, and he associates the smell with the trans women and the hookers he encounters, the sleazy smell that lingers in Richey’s motel rooms when whatever fucked up soul he’s spent the night with has snuck out, cash in hand and panties still draped over the bedframe when Nicky lets himself in.
