After a miraculous recovery not many believed would ever happen, Arthur Morgan survived and healed from the trials of 1899. With no one else but his partner and closest friend Charles Smith, who had come for him with the idea of burying his corpse, the two made a hasty yet slow escape to the Canadian mountains.
Now, with a new life and a flourishing relationship with each other, a surprise is soon to come.
However, a horrid virus begins to slowly sweep throughout the towns and close-knit settlements of the mountains—reanimating the dead to where they now walk amongst the living. The virus slowly spreads down through the whole continent, leaving nearly no land untouched.
The best thing they can do is hope for survival in their little isolated corner of the country.

Hi gang! This is an action-horror-western fic very loosely based on the RDR: Undead Nightmare game - but knowing what we know, I can't resist throwing some RDR2 characters/settings in there, too. And knowing myself, there's probably going to be a li'l romance! (Correction, there is a lot of romance.) Characters/settings belong to Rockstar Games.This story was completed January 9, 2022 on Wattpad; crossposting here.

Black clouds swelled with rage and lightning slashed across the sky. Nature howled in fury for it sensed once again a great disturbance and spewed forth from the churning skies a force so strong it could stir the dead. A gnarled hand broke through the surface of dampened soil, rising to the supernatural call of the elements that tolled throughout the country like a bell. Knives of rain lashed against the emerging creature. The cold water searched to draw out heat, but on John's body it could find none, for there was no warm life pumping beneath the remains of his grey flesh.
