Summary
On his eighteenth birthday, Ignatz wakes up to someone else’s thoughts in his head. How incredibly rare, and yet he has a heart-mate, someone whose thoughts and feelings he can hear, and who can hear Ignatz’s thoughts and feelings in return.
It’s not exactly a high romantic situation, of course, when the first thing his heart-mate does is block Ignatz out, the second thing his heart-mate does is refuse to share anything about their identity, and the third thing his heart-mate does is tell Ignatz that they resent their connection and wish it had never been felt. Never mind that the war approaches, threatening every aspect of both of their lives and the future they supposedly are fated to share.

Summary
Claude unceremoniously hopped off his wyvern, grabbed an axe, slammed it down on the mage's leg, then kicked him over to Lorenz. The mage was quite light, so Lorenz picked him up to slam against a tree trunk once before slinging the body as far into the forest thicket as he could.
"I thought you disliked doing these manners of things," Lorenz said, dusting his hands off.
Claude shrugged.
"We didn't kill him, we just broke his legs and threw him in a forest full of monsters," he said. "If he doesn't have friends who will fly over and rescue him in life-threatening situations, that's his problem."
All life is precious, but the Golden Deer think their friends' lives are just a little more precious than others. Just a little.

On the southern shore of Morfis lies the island of Fobet. In the centre of the island is a magnificent mountain called Kanto Mountain.
