Strength fading fast, Mata Nui could feel conciseness slipping from his fingertips fast, all he hoped was that he did it. Saved his people and friends, reformed the planet to its former glory and give a new hope for them. He could only hope they could survive without him once again if he didn't make it

Summary
The second entry into my Chronicles of the Past series, The Mountain takes place in the Southern Highlands (an extremely mountainous region on the Southern Continent's south coast). One village of Matoran, Nuvaniq, has been experiencing very nice weather as of late - a very unusual phenomenon, as generally the weather there is absolutely atrocious. Concerned that the Matoran will grow accustomed to the warmth (leading to carelessness and death when it gets cold again), the village's protector goes on a quest to learn exactly what is happening to his home's climate. While he is gone, the Captain of the village guard has to step up and ensure Nuvaniq is safe... something that may prove difficult.

He meets Metari, a Toa of Light who is struggling to keep the city of Metru Nui safe and to win the respect of the Matoran who live there. Takanuva offers her his help to take the city back, but as the shadows close in around them, saving Metru Nui might be easier said than done.
