The proposal has been carefully orchestrated within the group under Kit's exceptional organisational skills to go off without a hitch. Everything is just perfect. Timed right down to the minute.
"It's time. This is it. This is really happening!" Kit thinks as she sinks down on bended knee, ring in hand while Jade is looking skyward at the colored fireworks exploding and flashing in brilliant patterns across the black backdrop of the evening sky that Kit can see reflecting in the shimmering of Jade's honey-dipped hazel eyes. It's perfect. Everything is just perfect.
It's right at that very moment that the car appears out of nowhere and ploughs into them leaving Kit fighting for her life and Jade fighting for Kit.
