“Ezra?” Kanan breathes out, reaching for the bond that binds them together and finds it. Full of life. Stronger than ever before. Right there. Just past the portal. Just through the entrance.
“Master? Are you okay?” Ezra tilted his head slightly, concern seeping into his deep blue eyes.
Kanan nods in response. Feeling lost. Conflicted. “They are waiting for you. Go to them. Open the door. This is what you want, isn’t it? The life you deserved. The life your Padawan deserved. Living peacefully in the Jedi order. It can all be yours.”
“Kanan, don’t listen to him. It isn’t real” Ahsoka grasps around his wrist pulling him backward. Ezra, just out of reach, looks shocked and scared. Kanan can almost feel how his student reaches for their bond. The fear of watching him being ripped away from him.
“No, Master. Don’t leave” The boy’s voice breaks, “There is still so much you need to teach me.”
