Furina de Fontaine is, for lack of a better word, torn. The position of Hydro Archon is no more, Foçalors has been sentenced to death by her own volition, while she, the human embodiment of the late Hydro Archon’s aspirations and sentimentality, can live on as a citizen of Fontaine without the burden of a destructive prophecy weighing down on the people that were once her own, but the emptiness inside her persists. Her dreams are nothing out of the ordinary: start life over somewhere abroad, never look back, say goodbye to everything and everyone she always knew. That includes her best friend in all those years and her former right-hand man/subordinate, Fontaine’s Chief Justice, Neuvillette, who seems to respond fine to the notion of her leaving - but is he? He’s already struggling, among other things with his own relationship, but it seems this all stirs something brand-new in him.
As for Furina? “I'm so sorry, it won't happen—!” Her startled shout into the room echoed, and after she realized what the setting in front of her was, she became breathless. “Again…?”
A large hand was placed upon her shoulder with care, and it was firm and quite warm compared to the chill around them. The deep voice returns with concern and dissatisfaction: “Lady Furina, I can allow you to rest if you feel unwell about the material, but this is important business. We can't shirk it any longer.”
