As she rose from her bed, the first thing she noticed was the fact Dad was sitting on her bed, dressed with his purple sweater on top of his green collared shirt without his coat.
And the most startling detail was for the first time in a while, Dad did not have his white hat on.
It was shocking to see all his hair, black, shiny and loose curls.
Alarm bells rang off loudly in her mind as she narrows her eyes suspiciously at him.
“You’re not wearing your hat,” Jolyne greets him as she crawls out of her covers, to reach up and touch his hair, sitting on his lap while doing so. Her eyes narrow more. “Why are you not wearing it?”
