Summary
Wei Wuxian had been absolutely certain that Jin Guangyao was Mo Xuanyu's last enemy, the one who had to die in order to satisfy the demands of the Sacrificial Curse. But, after the events of Guanyin temple one cut still remains and Wei Wuxian will have to figure out who still needs to die in order for him to keep his second chance at life.
OF COURSE they'll ultimately end up in Gusu with their happy book ending, but in this fix-it-fic they'll investigate a rumor that Wen Qing is still alive first, and in the process resolve a few of the unanswered plot points that've kept this writer up at night, such as:
What really happened to Wen Qing? Where is Wei Wuxian’s body? Why didn’t Inquiry work for 13 years? Why was Mo Xuanyu able to summon WWX when no one else could? Will Wei Wuxian really be content in a body with low spiritual power forever? Wei Wuxian is canonically bi, and LWJ isn’t even a LITTLE suspicious of WQ/WWX at the Burial Mounds? Really?? After the events at the Temple, Wei Wuxian and Jiang Cheng find themselves trapped in a room sealed by a mysterious ancient artifact. Nobody knows who placed it or why, but the only certainty is that it will have to share the same space for seven days, without any escape route and with everything needed to survive, but without the possibility of calling for help.
Seven days of forced silence, seven days in which every repressed resentment, every unspoken word, every wound still open between them risks exploding like a storm.
Wei Wuxian, with his uncertain smile and his apparent nonchalance, tries to fill the silence with jokes and light comments, while Jiang Cheng looks at him with eyes full of anger and pain, as if the mere sight of him reopens old scars
Seven days to listen... Listen to what was never said, listen to the apologies never expressed, the accusations never addressed. Hearing not only the words, but also the silence that separated them for so long.
Will they be able to find peace and mutual understanding in a week, or will resentment destroy them permanently?
Or Jiang Cheng is stuck with his worst nightmare, Wei Wuxian :D

As for her courtesy name… Jiāng Chéng had long since grown to despise it. Wǎnyín. It was not an auspicious name in the slightest what with Wǎn ( 晚 ) meaning ‘at night’ and Yín ( 吟 ) meaning ‘to recite’ but also ‘to cry/lament’.
Lamenting through the night. It was such a poetic way of saying that the name really emphasized on the act of mourning and grieving.
She had never lingered on it too hard, not before the name itself became her reality. And really, after so many losses, she should have seen it coming sooner but she had been more than happy to ignore the metaphoric claws closing in on Niè Míngjué.Love is a battlefield far crueler than war.

Summary
Jin Guangyao, in a frantic attempt to save himself, puts a guqin string against Jin Ling's throat. Lan Wangji follows Wei Wuxian's eye signal to ambush Jin Guangyao and sever his right hand from the wrist.
Huaisang plays the final trump card as he tricks Xichen into killing Guangyao. Guangyao dies and the temple crumbles.
As the new day dawns, the Lan and Jiang clans rush to the temple, along with the remaining juniors.
Seeing them worried, Wei Wuxian and Lan Wangji assure them that they are alright. They leave the temple, Wangji requesting Wen Ning to bring both Jingyi and Sizhui to the secluded place.
Before Wen Ning arrives, Wei Wuxian and Lan Wangji engage in a heart to heart talk, and Wei Wuxian reveals that he had always been scared to come to terms with his feelings. He also apologizes for being a terrible dad to Jingyi. Eventually , the four of them share a family hug, but Jingyi is a bit cross with Wei Wuxian.
Jingyi and Sizhui leave for Gusu with Wen Ning , and Wei Wuxian and Lan Wangji share a tender moment in the forest before returning to the temple ruins. It is during this time Wei Wuxian learns the truth about the scar on Wangji's abdomen.Series
