You only live once, but if you do it right, once is enough (OFA has a different view however)
All Might may have chosen Mirio as his successor, but the previous OFA users preferred Midoriya and so decided that they would take the role of his trainer. The only problem being Izuku can’t see or hear them. But a bit of possession never hurt anyone did it.
OR
Izuku get regular black outs and somehow gains quirks in that time, and All Might nearly had a heart attack after seeing a supposedly quirkless child using Nana’s quirk. -

in his second year at the school of his dream, Izuku Midoriya doesn't speak up when his classmates decide to spend halloween in a haunted house, and he's the only one who notices the shadow of a cat following them. by the time he pushes his fear back enough to tell his class how he felt and that he was leaving, he'd already been pulled into the shadows and was replaced by the cat, his own face smirking at his with a demonic glint as a demon dragged him away from his unaware friends.
