They had a nice circle of friends, a couple friendly acquaintances, and they never dated anyone or had a first kiss that counts, but they never needed all that. The only regrets they had was that they didn’t live a little more and that they didn’t finish the Harry Potter series- oh. That’s probably why they’ve been reincarnated. But still! It could’ve literally been anyone else! A background character, a transfer student from Dumstrang that only shows up in the 4th book and falls in love with a Hogwarts or Beauxbatons student only to leave at the end of the year and promise to keep in touch through letters and then eventually one of them ends up cheating. At this point they’d even take Draco Malfoy! At least he was also in Slytherin. But no, they had to be the Boy-Who-Lived. The Boy-Who-Almost-Dies-Every-Year. The Boy-Who-Was-Obviously-Bisexual-But-J.K-Rowling-Was-Scared-Of-The-Rainbow. This is so unfair. The only bad thing they did in life was steal, excessively.

Also maybe we'll wrestle with the entire premise of magical segregation, who knows.
Piers Polkiss is an OC in everything but name, so sorry if you were hoping for the slithery bully from Dudley's gang and got this softboi poet instead. -

I'm going to be honest. I'm a trans woman and I simply got tired of all of J.K. Rowling's transphobic nonsense. Spitefully, I wrote this fic with one simple idea: what if Harry Potter was trans? I am interested in seeing where this may go in the future. It starts off pretty similarly to the original story, but it became clear fairly quickly that Mary and Harry are not the same character. With the added difficulty of not only growing up with the Dursleys, but also growing up transgender--which the Dursleys are not supportive, naturally, since they want everything to be normal in the strictest sense of the word. Harry always had hope that things would change at the beginning, but Mary has a much different outlook.
