"Florence is a city of the exotic; a place where strange and mysterious beasts are allowed to roam the streets without fear of scrutiny from church or state. Of their circle of friends, Nico's daemon is the least unusual. Leo and Vanessa have their birds, and Zoroaster's was some kind of small gold monkey. The Medici are also anything but ordinary in that regard, and there's strange creatures aplenty in Leo's workshop. Every time you walk the streets of Florence you can see animals you've never seen before, and be amazed."
