Summary
After fleeing the Bloodstone estate in Arizona to evade the mysterious group pursuing them, Elsa and Jack drive to Los Angeles to visit Jack's sister Lissa and her husband Adam. Along the way Jack is reminded of a significant chapter of his life. Elsa didn't miss his reaction and wants to know more. Jack tells his mate about the tumultuous events that occurred on and following his eighteenth birthday 24 years earlier.
This fic is a story-in-a-story. If you're familiar with the Werewolf by Night special, you know what "Once" refers to. That's the inner story, which spans chapters 2 - 17. To follow the outer story, read the previous fics in this series.

The vast majority of this story is suitable for Teen And Up audiences. I bumped it to Mature due to aspects of chapters 3, 4, and one other.
