Summary:
Peter did not have the heart to kill Phil and peacefully moved on with his studies out of state, sending letters and paper flowers to look out for his mother. Because what kind of doctor would he be if he harmed someone? What kind of person would he be if he killed?
Now a graduated surgeon, he promises to come back home and be the balance in everyone's lives. But with Phil having taken up a new 'hobby', things promise to be anything but balanced.
Notes: Heed the tags. Peter is now older, over 18, and therefore his relationship to Phil is not underage anymore. Also fun fact: the working title of this fic was 'PBR-Professional Bull Rider'.

Phil knew it was wrong. He was so much older. They were both men. At the very least, he should’ve been gentler, taken his time with Peter, asked him whether or not he truly wanted this; but when Peter touched his wrist, his fingers seemed to say all that his mouth couldn’t. He wanted it, too.

Just some imaginings where Phil Burbank didn't meet his fate in The Power of the Dog, but instead was somehow brought into the future MCU and healed by Stephen Strange and Peter Parker. It's a brave new world he's in, and he has a lot to learn, especially since Stephen and pretty-boy Peter are in some kind of homosexual relationship and not shy about it.

He couldn't help the feeling that if he killed Phil, the one he'd really be doing the most harm to was himself.
Peter spares Phil, and learns to love him.

He revels in his nakedness, physically and spiritually. Out here there is nothing to hide, nothing to pretend, and he feels the familiar mask slip; it feels so heavy, wearing it as often as he does. Henry had taken it off of him often before . . . with him gone, Phil feels lucky to take it off a few times a year. It cracks more often than that, try as he might, but removal is a rarity. He is beginning to feel he has become the very personality he had made to hide himself, like the real him is now a faint echo overwhelmed by the din of his carefully crafted persona. If he were to look upon his reflection in the waters like Narcissus, would he see himself, or the mask?
