Summary
In which Thomas Hamilton finds himself on the same ship as his father when feared Captain Flint attacks. He also finds himself responsible for the teenager his father bought for his comfort.
It’s rather confusing.
Or in which Thomas is in Nassau for Season 1 (ish) with a teenager he ends up raising (despite his views on fatherhood) and tries to secure a normal life for himself, said teenager, his lover and his ex wife.
Easier said than done.

Summary
In the world we know, the unforgiving training of the Royal Naval lingers in James Flint. He treats his crew as expendable; they're not more important than the mission. Not more important than his all-consuming crusade to fulfill Thomas Hamilton's dream for a free Nassau. He has Miranda for safe harbor. All his love and devotion go to her.
In another world, when a beaten but not broken James McGraw is told that Thomas and Miranda are dead before he is even transported to the colonies, piracy is what saves him. His crew is his safe harbor. There is no one waiting for him at home in the interior. And when a man whose passion and rhetoric can ignite a war against the civilized world starts thinking about building pirate alliances that much sooner...the world changes.
Or, the sweeping Pirate versus Britain war AU that no one but James Flint asked for, full of angst, suffering, brotherhood, and of course, sea battles.
Eventually, James Flint will find peace. But not without taking back his freedom first.

Summary
James McGraw was in love with two remarkable people until his life was ripped away. Stripped of his naval rank and thrown into prison at the Earl of Ashbourne's orders, he faces conditions he never thought existed...and he must find a way to survive.
The harsh and unforgiving backstory for James McGraw in Freedom, Illuminated.
Mind the warnings. This is dark. There is torture, rape, and heavy angst. This is not the most graphic story on this site, but it is not for the faint of heart.

Summary
“Charles Town is sleeping with one eye open and a knife under its pillow tonight. Any one of us sets foot on that sand absent an engraved invitation from the governor is likely to greet the sunrise swinging. We arrived on this ship. Until and unless Captain Flint is successful in his endeavor, this ship is the only way we leave here alive.”
Silver's own words come back to him, resounding in his skull like a tolled bell, far louder than when he delivered them the day before. Infiltrating the pirate-panicked town will be no mean feat—its denizens are wary, shaking and wild-eyed at the very idea of fanged monsters anchored just outside the harbor.
--An alternate canon take where, instead of Vane, Silver goes to Charles Town to rescue Flint. Hijinks ensue.

Summary
James faces the window, staring out at the darkness of the gardens as though he is thousand miles away. Thomas might have thought his approach went almost unnoticed, except that the absolute stillness with which James holds himself could only come from someone who was very intentionally not moving. It almost seems as if he’s afraid to; as though the slightest tremor in the fragile fabric of what the two of them have shared that evening would tear the entire thing apart.
Thomas knows the feeling. He shares it, intimately. But he has come too far to turn back now - and he knows he will regret it forever if he lets his courage fail him in this moment. He reaches out very slowly and caresses the tips of James’ fingers with his own.
“Will you stay?”
OR: yes we obviously need another fic about what happens post-kiss/Alfred Hamilton getting smacked down. So have like, 6 chapters of smut and feelings.

The physician retrieved a ring of keys form his belt and unlocked the door to one of the cells. It swung open with a heavy creak. Peter squinted into the darkness of the room. After a moment, he finally saw the figure huddled on the bed, face turned towards the wall, knees drawn to its chest.

Summary
People want to believe he painted it for his wife, for she has shiny green eyes, and the greens are too prevalent for him not to see them. It marks you, I am sure you understand, the first time colour bathes you. This would be a beautiful story. But the dates don’t line up. He only met her about two months after he finished the painting, long after he even started working on it. He lived with his assistant, a man who wanted to become an artist himself. It is amazing how far people will go. They bent time, because that was more natural than a man loving another man. They said the artist somehow knew that that woman, who he hadn’t yet met was the one he would love more than himself. I must revel in the irony of you having such an iconic piece here.

Another thing he can rely on is how bored rich people always are, maybe because they don’t have to strive to get what they want. Either way, he has seen all kinds of different depravities and diversions, and yet they always come up with something new which in itself is more entertaining than he expected.
As of lately, all the fuss is about spiritualism and the many perversions of it [...]
