"You like the sea?" Owen asks, smiling.
"It reminds me of home." Zach says, and Owen's heart threatens to split in two. He remembers that feeling; that deep, ingrained need to be surrounded by the sound of the ocean and the smell of seawater. The rise and fall of the waves moving in time to the beat of his heart. He'd forgotten it, somewhere around the time he'd forgotten what it was like to go to sleep without a bottle of whiskey in his hands… but he can remember it now.
