The two just didn't expect to be surprisingly adopted by the local drunkard three times winner best bard, who is actually the God Anemo, who also apparently has an adoption compulsion problem along with a shit ton of trauma and who is actually extremely serious and wears a facade more often than not.

Rex Lapis has an excellent memory. Of course, he has to in order to remember all the contracts he made. But one has slipped his mind; or rather, he purposely tried to forget about it. One drunken night he and Barbatos had made a contract that if by their decided date they weren't in a relationship, they'd just marry each other. If Rex Lapis had been sober, he would've never had made such a foolish contract, but as the God of Contracts, he can't very well break his own contract. He ultimately pushed it to the back of his mind, hoping it would work itself out. But now, the agreed upon date is quickly approaching and though he tries to get out of it, a certain funeral parlor consultant realizes he has feelings for a certain bard. But nothing's ever easy when it comes to love; as Zhongli reckons with his feelings, he must also face forces that threaten to tear him and Venti apart along with all of Teyvat.

Aether had only gone out to catch some fish. He did not anticipate to spot a human ship so close to his home. To keep the rest of the merfolk safe, he chose to lure them away. His plan heavily backfired when the humans severely wounded him and captured him. He had begun to accept his fate. He’d either be sold or killed by these humans, never to return to the sea he calls his home. But then suddenly the ship he was being held captive in is attacked by Alatus’ ship. Now he is faced with a new problem… pirates.

“What authority does Barbatos have to get an answer out of me?” Childe chuckled, glancing at the Archon with an attempt to set himself at ease. Given the topic, his mind was now full of nothing but hues of red, so for once, Childe was not itching to pick a fight.

Childe has come to Mondstadt, the nation of freedom, in search of the Snezhnayan criminal, the Delusion Thief, on the orders of the Tsaritsa. He expects this to be a quick mission before he's deported to Fontaine, however this criminal has other ideas.
Diluc was just trying to get through life at this point. He'd made up with Kaeya at the suggestion of the traveler, and had officially married his lover, Venti, otherwise known as the god of Freedom, Barbatos. He'd also managed to make things right again with Jean, as they had not been on the greatest of terms for many years now, and taken in many children who needed new homes. He thought he was done with the difficult things in life, but the arrival of a certain ginger in the nation of Freedom has shaken him. He didn't ask to be reminded of a past he'd much rather forget.
Murata is growing desperate. Her search had led her nowhere, despite having been ongoing for several years. Her husband was dead, that she knew. The news had been passed on to her from the Tsaritsa, but the location of her daughter, her dearest baby girl, remained unknown.

Aether looked away from the man that was leaning against him on the wall, the blonde's cheeks turing a bright shade of red. Sensing the boys discomfort, The man in black took a few steps back from the boy against the wall.
"Sorry... Are you okay? They didn't hurt you did they?"
"No it's fine.. And n-no they didn't hurt me."
"Well if you're not harmed, I'll be leaving-"
"W-wait!"
The man in black was about to turn and leave, but stopped as he heard the boy ask him to wait. So with a brow raised, the man in black looked the boy in the eye waiting for him to continue. Aether felt nervous under the stranger's intense gaze, but with his head held high, Aether finally spoke.
"T-thank you for saving me."
The stranger in black looked at the boy with surprise, not quite sure what to say.
"Your welcome.. If that's all then-"
"What's your name?"
"..My what?"
"What's your name? My name's Aether, so what's yours?"
"..."
"Y-you don't have to say if you feel too uncomfortable-"
"Xiao. My name's Xiao. You should leave, this place isn't safe to hang around for too long."
And he then left.
