Summary
After walking deeper into the trees for a while, the boy stopped. He pointed at the ground, in a spot where the dirt looked unsettled.
“There.” The boy said, his face twisting into a resentful expression. Bucciarati looked.
“What?” He inquired, staring down at the raised mound of dirt. “What’s buried there?”
Seconds of pure silence trickled by, so Bucciarati turned to look at the child. He was surprised by the sight that awaited him.
Thick rivulets of blood dripped from his chin and down his front, and his eyes grew dull. His skin seemed to rot in front of Bucciarati’s eyes, and soon he was crawling with maggots. He looked at Bucciarati and said, “I am.”
Bucciarati blinked and the boy was gone.
That ghost’s name was Pannacotta Fugo.

Summary
So, my head cannon for what happened to Fugo after he was left behind. As well as his return home to the others.
Its implied Fugo has a really bad time with torture before he's rescued and brought home to his family. This mainly goes over his initial return home to his family who loves him and wants him well again.

Summary
Fugo hadn’t been able to sleep for days since he left them.
Which brings him to now, waiting patiently on the side of a river, watching the gentle waves lap against the rocky barrier. The sun languidly sets, casting a golden glow over the scenery of the area. Despite Fugo’s calm demeanor, however, his heart is hammering in his chest. He’s unable to quell the anxieties of the answers the evening might bring him.

“Mista,” Fugo says with urgency. “Off.” Six pairs of puzzled eyes turn to him.
“What?”
His bones feel like they’re vibrating. His skin is buzzing and his chest feels like it’s expanding.
“Get off,” he repeats, and starts to shove Mista’s limbs from his lap. “Off, off, off!”
He scrambles out of the way just in time for Fugo to double over as every tic he suppressed during the movie tumbles out of him, his abdomen spasming and yelps ripping their way from his throat.

Fugo's return to the Buccigang is not as everyone expected, or maybe it's too much as they thought. Fugo has proven his loyalty, but now his job is to do taxes, be the third advisor and strategist, and avoid everyone, even Giorno, at all costs.
It was strange that Fugo should so suddenly ask for two extra days in addition to his usual Friday off, and stranger still that Sheila and Murolo should make the sacrifice of asking for precisely the same days and having to work two weeks in a row without a break. So when two hours later, Narancia called a meeting to spy on Fugo and his new friends, Giorno could only succumb to curiosity.OR

A fisherman tells the young mafioso to take some unclaimed fish stock with firm scales and clear bulging eyes and Fugo comes back to his apartment with his arms fuller than when he left that dawn.
Mista picks up the fish by the lips and gives it a thoughtful look, he pauses and sniffs towards still sea-scented air, “Are you sure this is old fish stock?” The underboss quotes with some fair skepticism.
“I went down there when I did my rounds. I didn’t see anything left towards the end of the morning.”
“... last week the bream I got had a bite mark in it…”

Summary
Fugo attends the future Duke of Napoli's masquerade birthday party as a favor to Sheila, his best friend. He thinks his night will be spent by the dessert table, eating all the strawberry tarts. Instead, a very pretty stranger approaches him, and Fugo quickly finds himself falling for them. Scared to be discovered as a commoner, Fugo flees with Sheila in tow - and, in the process, leaves behind a clue for his new beau.
Fugo thinks the night will fade into a pleasant memory and that will be that. Obviously, he doesn't quite understand Giorno Giovanna's resolve.
(Or: the FuGio Cinderella AU I wanted to see in the world with a bit of political drama and background ships sprinkled in for fun.)
