Summary
What happened? Slip had been in danger, and Nureyev had protected him, and now he was safe. Obviously that’s what had happened. Nureyev had been fighting to keep Slip safe for the last two decades; what else was he supposed to do?
But then his eyes floated to Juno, and that quiet whisper from before came back, a bit louder this time, saying Juno is not a danger. Juno would not hurt Slip. Ever.
And both of these facts could not be true at the same time.
Slip wants to try subbing. Nureyev learns some things about himself. Juno is actually the most well-adjusted one of the bunch.

Summary
There was a time he hated Hyperion City and all its memories, but it seemed oddly precious to Nureyev now. How could he hate something that was such a pivotal part of Juno Steel?
He turned the corner and the block that opened up before him had changed since he saw it last, and yet was immediately recognizable. The floating billboards advertised different brands of swill, but the building he was looking for appeared more or less unchanged. His eyes trailed up the rows of windows automatically, locating the correct one, but the neon reflections hid whatever – whoever – may or may not be inside. It was later in the evening than he had planned, thanks to interplanetary time conversions and spaceport delays, and as the building loomed closer he wondered if it was too late.
Too late in the evening, that is. He… he had to believe it was not too late.

Summary
There was still a part of him that was 13 years old and desperately clutching on to his most prized possessions: the Buddy and Vespa trading cards. They were long lost to time, but he could still see them perfectly in his mind. He looked back to the real Vespa Ilkay. She didn’t like him. He pushed down the sting he felt at the thought.
They said never meet your heroes. Your heroes might hate you personally.

Summary
'I had a suspicion that I knew exactly what had brought him here. It made me queasy with a tormented combination of desire and dread to think that he had come here for me. The stubborn, brilliant, impossible, beautiful fool – how had he even tracked me here?
My racing thoughts fell silent when Juno’s head turned and he seemed to look straight into my very soul. He had that familiar scowl on his face, the one that meant he was slotting the final piece into the puzzle, “I have to… go,” he said distractedly and his voice, hearing it was the sweetest torture, “I mean, exit. Stage right.” he scrambled off stage and out of my sight. My heart ached tremendously; Juno would be rushing into the tech booth in a minute, but I would be gone long before that.
Unless… My feet had carried me back to the window but… perhaps I should stay. Perhaps there was no way to get through to him without speaking face to face. If that last entry in the journal had not been enough to deter him, perhaps it might begin to sink in if he heard it from me directly.'

Summary
So, when Vespa Ilkay glared at him and spit out his former alias like so much poison, Peter Nureyev made a split-second decision because fuck it. He was exhausted from the running and the hiding and the secrecy. He had just lost Slip (and heaven help him when he had the time to unpack all that that implied), he himself had almost died a frankly ridiculous amount of times and he’d almost lost Juno (this one still rattled him enough that he hadn’t let go of the detective in one way or another since they got back together: an arm, a hand, the sash of his torn, dirty, stupid, lovely trench-coat). The Ruby7 was a sentient, telepathic alien for crying out loud (he was really regretting the many times he and Juno had… ehem… necked in the back seat).
To put if plainly, Peter Nureyev had reached his absolute limit about five life-changing revelations ago. If Vespa wanted to curse him out, as was her right after he had walked out on their little crime family, then she could do it using his real name. There was nothing more anyone could hold over his head anymore. Before any of them knew it he shot back:
“It’s Nureyev, actually, Peter Nureyev”

Summary
Peter Nureyev finally allows himself to collapse, heaving as he kneels on the tile floor.
“You’re okay. Just breathe through it, babe, you’re gonna be okay.”
“Wh—Juno? I thought—love, what are you doing?” There is an icepack on his neck, a hand on his stomach, and a detective on his shoulder, and he is unsure about how any of those things got there.
Juno’s eyebrows wrinkle. “Uh, making sure you’re okay? You looked like you were about to hurl when we were playing Kanagawa-opoly. And, I mean, honestly I wouldn’t blame you if you did, but—”
Nureyev wishes he could listen to Juno ramble until Sol explodes, but his stomach has other ideas.

Nureyev has always had a sensitive stomach.

Summary
While Nureyev waits for the Vivopolean meeting to start he ponders something that's been in the back of his mind and contemplates how to get both Juno and Slip back.
Nureyev kept turning the word over and over in his head. The name of the asteroid they were in: Vivopolis, it felt… mocking. Almost exceedingly so. It would have been bad enough if it was just a junkyard in an abandoned corner of space, but after witnessing the horror that was the LifeUP workers the hypocrisy of it all felt like a stab. Vivopolis had been named in an old Earth language, one that people seldom knew or cared about, but one that came in handy for a thief who specialized in the rare and invaluable.
Vi-vo-po-lis
Viv-o-polis
Vivo-polis
Vivo: from vivu, life.
Polis: a city, citizenship, body of citizens.
Vivopolis: Living city, city of life.
What a lie.
A necropolis disguised.
That’s what this whole asteroid was.

Summary
Like with many other human predilections, Peter Nureyev would not consider himself to desire sex, at least in the traditional senses. Don’t get him wrong, he enjoys sex, quite a bit actually. But that drive, that passion, that desperation and growing heat and yearning to have another body against yours, had never been an aspect of his personal sex life.
Now, the desperation to hear your Lady make all those pretty noises, and to slowly, meticulously, make him lose all sense of language and conscious thought? Well, that was something Peter was well acquainted with. -
