Summary

Six years ago, her niece Jaina was killed, the Senate threw out her sister-in-law, and the First Order came to power.
Tormented by her nephew Ben's betrayal, guilt-ridden over the destruction of her husband's cohort of young Jedi, and determined to restore Kylo Ren to the Light- or kill him in the attempt- Mara seeks out a powerful but uneducated Force-sensitive named Rey, believing the young woman holds the key to striking the first blow against the First Order.
But just as Mara can never quite put her past as the Emperor's Hand- a brutal assassin and aspiring Sith- to rest, nor can Rey quell her own rage at the world that abandoned her and the future that Ren ripped from her- and if the two of them cannot stop him, they may find themselves falling with him.

Everyone knew Luke's face, and she knew it better than most: the different degrees of his smiles and the set of his jaw when he had decided on a particularly stupid course of action and the way sometimes his eyes crinkled into a smile even though his mouth didn't because he was trying to suppress a laugh.
But even though his face was right, his eyes were wrong. They weren't the pure blue of summer skies, but xanthous gold and rimmed in fiery red. Sith eyes.
Luke Skywalker had Sith eyes.
Sequel to "Black Pawn," in which the author continues her crusade to fix Dark Empire and postulates that Luke Skywalker would, in the singular chance that the Legends canon afforded him, be a competent, terrifying, and powerful Big Bad if given the chance.
