The one on his mind was the painting he’d seen near the entrance of the church depicting the crucifixion of Jesus, with Mary sitting clinging to the cross her son had been pinned onto. It resembled how he and Orion were positioned now, with Orion on his knees clinging onto the one above him, and Valentino standing nearly motionless except for small quivers at what was being done to him.
