A kid finds that evidence and takes it to the former Batman in hopes of getting help stopping the killers, eventually taking on the mantle themself and getting a “part-time job” as a cover for their new career of crimefighting- except here they never rediscover the evidence. Here, their part-time job really is just an after-school hustle to keep the lights on. Yet, somehow, a lot of strange (and even super) things are still happening around them, but this time not even they have a decent explanation for it.

    (aka. I made a joke abt Ter getting a pizza delivery job months ago and I still think it’s really funny so I’ve written stuff for it now)

    So when Mayor Gordon comes to ask that they perform an especially... up-close investigation of strange new activity in the Jokerz ranks, they- reasonably- would rather take the research essay. Fate (or rather, Mr. Wayne, but really that was the same thing anyway) has other plans though, so until they can solve this mystery it's going to be bad makeup and worse jokes for them. Oh. Joy.
