Arin dissociated. He did it a lot as a child, due to a traumatic incident.
It got better over time. He grew, found ways to cope, people to talk to. Then the mergequakes started. He met Sora. The dissociation started again. Maybe it was to deal with the stress of being separated from his family, or the stress of reality ripping a part in general. Sora helped him cope, he helped her. Then they met Lloyd.
By that time, he didn't dissociate much anymore, or knew the triggers and ways to tell it was going to happen. He didn't tell Lloyd. Maybe it was because he didn't want to be seen as wrong or weak or not worth training just because of something he now has control over! Sure- he is still set off sometimes, and has to leave training or meetings randomly because he can feel the grey curling around his mind. The grey. The thing that took him when he couldn't handle reality. -

Ed and Edna have always tried to help Jay though the struggles of life. They've always fought to raise him up well, to give him the strength to endure the world that could sometimes be cruel, to make sure he knew that he was loved. From before Jay was a ninja, to the moment they find him post-Merge, they promise to do everything they can to help Jay heal from the pain and suffering he endures.
A somewhat introspective fic about Ed and Edna helping Jay over the years, to finally seeing him again post-Merge.

Another winter has set in on the Merged Worlds, finally having built up the courage to venture in the city across the desert- Sora finds herself thrust into a world struggling to find a foothold as predators lurk through the alleyways and undersides.. all while trying to come to terms with herself.
Arin is on a search with friend's he's made through the years at the Crossroads to figure out why nobody has been able to summon a spirit.. more and more children around the age of twelve to thirteen from Ninjago fall ill without the nectar to summon a spirit to help stabilize themselves. But danger creeps ever closer to his friends as one he makes can alter the course of the Crossroads' safety.
Harumi has been moderately at peace ever since her freedom from the Crystal King, but all of this comes crashing down when Akita the Formling acusses her of things she's never done before as an enemy from Harumi's past comes back seeking revenge.
