Percy turned to me with a wide grin on his beautiful face.
"Because he was an idiot that allowed himself to be controlled by our Grandfather!"
As always, talking to him just breaks down the logic I had worked hard to cultivate. His words reminding me that the man in front of me was in fact, not wholly human. He was half god and half mortal.
Staring at his sea-green eyes, I'm even beginning to doubt that fact.
"You're such a seaweed-brain!" I shot at him, irritated by his perfect smile.
"If you say so, Wise-girl" He returned.

The kid in him wanted a big party and pretty clothes and good food, and a small part of the boy who just turned eighteen he is now wishes the same.

Prequel to my fic The Ballad of the Sun and the Star, which is a Solangelo Hunger Games AU inspired by The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes. I recommend reading that first, though it is not required.
The Capitol has done its best to forever erase the memories of Percy Jackson and Annabeth Chase from its citizens. But deep in District Four, their story continues to live.
Annabeth Chase is not like most citizens of District Four; she has no real seafaring talent. But she needs the money to get away from her family, to make a living on her own.

In this tale of mayhem and marriage, Percy just wants to take the next step with Annabeth, but some (extremely annoying) monsters have other plans.
The resulting effect? Almost-stampedes, a feat of ring consumption, and formal ceremonies that could've gone more peacefully... but where's the fun in that?
Alternatively: Percy and Annabeth discover that maybe the reason why most demigods don't live long enough to get married is because pre-wedding stress (aka monsters breathing down your neck) got to them first.

Even if he had to knock Luke out and drag his body to the altar, Luke was getting married again.
