I received several comments about Bad Trip amounting to: What's Max's side on all this? What's he thinking?
So here's his side.
Please note: If you haven't read Bad Trip, this is not going to make much sense to you. In particular there are slang and concepts explained in Bad Trip but not explained here. (Max knows them, Rowan doesn't.) It is also not a retelling of the entire Bad Trip/The Outer Worlds story from Max's perspective. Just certain chapters of Bad Trip wherein Max and Rowan interact. Those Bad Trip chapters are noted at the beginning of each one of these chapters.
The only Explicit chapter so far is Chapter 3.

Despite his best intentions to be the hero Hope County needed, Sheriff's Deputy Mike Graves found himself unable to prevent the nuclear holocaust that laid waste to his home, and presumably killed those he cared about most. Saved from the chaos by Joseph Seed, and imprisoned in a bunker, he eventually gives into the grief and guilt that plagues his mind, and begins to listen to what Joseph is trying to tell him. In the seventeen years before Thomas Rush and his Captain of Security make their way to Hope County, the Deputy who was once a hero became The Judge, a shadow of his former self who serves his former enemy... what led such an honorable man to stoop to such a level, and what did he do before, and during the events that would shape the future of a post-apocalyptic Hope County?
