“You were right, Cait,” The words taste like ash in her mouth, but she pushes through. “Powder’s gone. But I can make this right. If you get Jayce to fix the gauntlets, I can do this myself. No one else needs to get hurt.” Except for Vi, of course, but if she had the choice to take the pain of others onto herself, she’d make that choice every single time. It’s not even a thought to her, anymore. Just an instinct.
For the Vi fans who were underwhelmed by her season 2 presence. What if she was given the writing she deserved? And what if we were given the Vi-focused season we were promised?
Vi-centric partial retelling of season 2, but a little to the left*.
*Okay maybe a lot to the left. This fic will include some canon divergences, such as:
- Caitlyn and Vi argue over using the Grey
- Ekko and Vi talk Jinx down together
- Zaun is liberated
- Act 3 ends much differently (but perhaps there is a sacrifice all the same)

Vi moves on, making a name for herself as a pit fighter. They try to find comfort in anyway they can but in their deepest of hearts they can't fully move on.

The main focus is on Vi and Cait but Loris-heads will enjoy the important role the big man plays in this series. I have a theory about where he came from (not out of nowhere)! Maddie and Ambessa are there, too!
Vi and Cait will each get one vignette per month of the time skip.
Loris will get one chapter.I chose to make the time skip last six months bc that’s the minimum amount of time it would take imo for Vi’s hair to grow that long AND bc 6 = VI and i love her :)

With a groan of effort and pain, Vi sits up, then drags herself onto one knee before finally planting a heel against the platform and forcing herself to her feet. She sways, but keeps her footing. Then she starts to run.
Vi finds Caitlyn in the wake of the battle, and looks after her whilst reflecting on their journeys and losses.

Summary
Vi and Jayce have been best friends since their Freshman year when they joined the Alpha Kappa Fraternity. Now, only a few weeks into their junior year, the leader of their frat house announced it was shutting at the end of the year. Since then, everything has gone to shit.
Vi had recently discovered that her little sister she hadn't seen in nearly three years, Powder - who now went by Jinx - had just started at the same college as her. How will this affect her street cred? What will Mel's new roommate think?
Jayce got broken up with at the first party of the year by his girlfriend Mel, and he's also started failing Biochem. How will he recover from this heartbreak? And what will his tutor be like?
In conclusion, they're in shambles.

In the aftermath of Ambessa's attack, Caitlyn is forced to confront the consequences of her actions, Vi has some hard conversations, Jinx is doing her best, and Sevika could really use a drink.
Canon-Divergent Fic from S2E6 onwards, dealing with Vi's trauma and her and Caitlyn's first steps towards reconciliation.
This fic will not bash anyone, but a chunk of it does deal with Caitlyn recognizing how she has failed Vi, and seeking to atone for that. This takes place in concert with Vi acquiring some sense of self-worth, and the end-goal is a healthier and more equal and supportive relationship between the two of them.
