Clamor and calamity collide between helicopter pads and rooftops, a clash of arduous forces sprung taut in the balance of rickety negotiations and the ease of endless altercations. Flinching with spite and restlessness, danger crowds into clouds of hazy smoke and noise. It buries itself away in burrows of hoarse screams and fearful gasps as passersby flee the scene, dutifully escorted by police whose faces are obscured by the heavy hand of dread.

Loki is growing up with his brother in Asgard. He realized how much difference there is between him and Thor. He thinks nothing of it when he’s younger but as he gets older he gets more self conscious about those problems. He’s still cocky, loud and arrogant outside in public. But at home with his brother, his brothers friends and his parents, he’s silent and careful of his words and actions. His actions have consequences. He can’t make ‘mistakes’. He can’t handle to speak around the allfather unless he’s asked to out of fear. He doesn’t do much around his brother and his friends. He just sits around with them and lets them tease him. He doesn’t want to be alone. He barely talks to Frigga, but he speaks the most with her. She’s been teaching him more magic and looks out for him.

Midtown High School rests silently behind him, lights absent, darkened and shadowed as storm clouds brew and rain ricochets across surfaces. They’ve kicked lingering students out into the rain, those waiting for rides scattering and crowding in shallow shelters or under flimsy umbrellas shared by friends. School ended a while ago- there’s only passersby on the street that come and go and a remote few still waiting for parents. All are thoroughly soaked. Peter waits on the sidewalk.

"How the bloody hell did I get here?"
It was a question that Loki often asked himself, even though he knew the answer. He was well aware of all of his wrongdoings, and after galavanting across the multi-verse fighting so-called conquerors, he had come to terms with the fact that his story ended with his neck snapped by Thanos, and yet, for some odd reason, it didn't.
Instead, Loki finds himself revived, miserable, under house arrest, and drowning in the bland monotony of life in the mortal realm. Relegated to menial chores, pointless workout sessions, and helping Stark with science experiments, he often wonders if his current situation is his personal version of hell or if Mobius dropped him off in the wrong timeline.
How long was it going to be before the TVA realized its mistake? When was the supposed "rehabilitation" Stark kept mentioning going to actually start? What gave them the right to even try to change him, the God of Mischief?
But, also, who is this ordinary shopkeeper that keeps showing him that there is more life than chaos?
