Lloyd was marched into the throne room. It was uncomfortably hot.
A masked man sat at the end, on a large gilded throne wreathed in fire.The mask in question was designed to resemble a fanged skull. His messy mahogany hair was aflame, tied in a loose ponytail, and a gold circlet lay on top. A large staff blazing with sparks and inferno was in his hand. He was wearing some kind of elaborate armour, with red and black plating along with what looked like golden rope. There was some sort of black smudging under his eyes, and a large scar slashing one in half.
He had only ever knew one person with scars over an eye, and mastery over fire. But it was impossible.
The soldiers dragged Lloyd along until he was just at the feet of the throne. Looking up, he found himself staring straight into his eyes.
Blood-red. What seemed at first to be black smudges, he realised, was actually tear tracks- staining his face, blending into skin.'Who dares to trespass in my fortress?'

A week after they've returned from the Never Realm, Zane is avoiding repairs and gets skittish around some of the ninja. Jay, Nya, and Pixal call a team meeting to discuss. They all go into the meeting confused and by the end of it they all realize what it is Zane might be so scared of.
Based on a headcanon where Zane is a little hesitant and squirrelly around some of the others after he comes back. I am physically incapable of writing really dark things, so this is pretty light angst, even though it's a little sad.
