Summary
One soulmate, then one more. Nikola finds them both. One is the man he married, without knowing how important he was to him. The other is a man he saw go down a dark path. Yet, Nikola was always carefree and pron to do something, until he did it right. Constantine and Vasilisa might not see eye to eye at the start, but Nikola is like a kid in a candy store, and he knows how to treat them right.
Now, that he has found a way to bypass the worst consequences of the vampire curse, he is ready to do Lilith's biding. Cain will be destroyed, just like everything else, that has ever threatened Nikola's love life. In his path, though, stands someone who nearly killed him once, and doesn't consider him worthy of being a part of their family.

You know, there are a lot of theories about the beginning of the world: big bang, hand of God, pawns on a chessboard as infinite as we are small. They’re all relatively wrong. I think. In spite of what’s been written about me, I wasn’t around. Like the rest of the human race, it took a long time before I actually showed up on the scene. DeLaurent knew what so many others throughout time haven’t managed to figure out: the books of old were never meant to be taken literally. Tell that to the Sabbat. Times may have changed, but people still believe what they want to believe in order to make their nights or days a little more bearable. This is what I remember.
