“You look like you never sleep.”
Paul can barely breathe. He doesn’t know what to say. He hasn't slept, not well, anyway. He wakes up early or in fits in the night, and he can never escape those strange dreams. They’re getting harder to shake during the day.
Duncan’s hand drops away.
“You can stay with me,” Duncan offers. “Anytime you need. Tonight, if you want. If it will help you sleep.”

Paul has trouble sleeping. More accurately, he has trouble with his dreams. Duncan Idaho notices something off with his boy, and he offers Paul a place to stay. Paul only has to take him up on it.

He'd miscalculated—the tree limb had not been able to hold his weight, a fact that Paul had realized the moment the branch snapped underneath him and sent him tumbling to the hard ground below.
The fall could have been worse. As it was, Paul had only sprained his wrist, but that still presented another problem: he had been forbidden from climbing these particular trees in the first place, for this exact reason. They were old, gnarled things, unsafe and ill-suited for climbing, according to Gurney Halleck, but the Warmaster was rather old and gnarled himself and Paul had thought his observation mistaken.

“Why?” Paul asked.
Duncan raised an eyebrow and stood. “You’re smarter than that,” he chuckled.
Paul rolled his eyes. He hadn’t been a child since he was four years old, and shadows of things long past and yet to come had started skulking around him, whispering in his mind. But Duncan had a way of making him feel like a mischievous toddler. Paul liked it, for all he pretended not to. Duncan had never treated him like someone to fear.
“Why aren’t you telling my father? Your loyalty is to him.”
“My loyalty is to you. And I know you, my boy. You’ve made up your mind, and nothing I say will change that. So,” he continued, grinning wolfishly. “What’s our heading?”
Paul swallowed. “Arrakis. We’re going to Arrakis.”

Or, the Bene Gesserit had no idea what they were toying with when they began crossing bloodlines and fooling with things they didn’t understand, and Paul is far more than they could have ever expected.
For his part, Paul wants a break from it all, and Arrakis may just be that.

Paul’s smile stretched from ear to ear. “You mean I get to keep you all night?” he asked, his voice bright. Giggling, he beamed as Gurney nodded. “And you don’t have to sneak out before anyone wakes up?”
“Nope,” Gurney replied with a delighted grin, “We can have actual lazy morning sex.”
