La transparenteidad pegajosa de su vestido ciertamente no ayudó a distraer a Paul de la fina escultura de su físico. La precisión de sus visiones anteriores significaba que Paul ni siquiera podía encontrar consuelo en la idea de que esto era una locura temporal, que incluso si deseaba al otro niño, nunca correspondería. Paul entretuvo brevemente la idea de que podría ser preferible para él morir por la mano de Feyd-Rautha que enamorarse de un Harkonnen, pero rápidamente desterró ese pensamiento por lo tonto que era. Si fuera entre el amor y la muerte, él elegiría el amor, y sin embargo estaba decidido a encontrar algún camino entre ellos, porque ambos caminos sentían que debían conducir a la destrucción".
