Summary
Scar’s never known the avian to be anything but confident, calm, and calculated. But now he’s frightened, swinging a sword around haphazardly as a last-ditch attempt to stay alive, and all it will take is one wrong move or one perfect shot from a pillager, and he’ll die.
And in a way, Scar is terrified too, because he’s never been able to land a shot on the avian before, or get close enough to do any damage, but whatever got to him first did much more than just a little prick from an arrow. Pillagers are scary in their own right, but Scar has a feeling that it wasn’t just pillagers or ravagers that did this.
Something is very wrong.
or, Scar saves the city’s most dangerous criminal, makes him his roommate, falls in love with him, and then also saves the world with him. In that order, with various setbacks along the way.

There was no parent waiting on Grian’s name. There was, however, a scrawny boy of sixteen making his way forward. Smartly dressed, it was almost ironic with what was waiting for him in the next few weeks. Eventually, people realised where he was, and a path was formed.

Finally, slender hands stopped in their shuffling and a single white sheet was selected. Removing it from the bowl, Grian wanted to laugh at the crowd as all eyes landed on the woman. He couldn’t, though, knowing he was one of those people just thirty seconds ago.
“Mumbo J. Hermit!”
A taller, black haired boy was immediately singled out. His friends, Grian assumed, all immediately turning towards him with both shocked and already mournful expressions.
Everyone liked Mumbo.
Tldr; When Grian was picked at the reaping, he almost expected it. His name was in there one too many times.
However, when the district favourite was picked, all he could do was hope to survive. Even if deep down a flower was already rooting itself deep, a seed nobody could have known would grow.

It’s the instinct of green life, Grian knows, that has him backing away slowly. He takes a few tiny steps backwards.
Scar looks at him, something angry and hurt in his gaze, “But I think you’ll make a good first message to the masses. You were the first to take advantage of me, after all.”
or, grian has won third life. choking on his guilt, he jumps. but he isn’t taken to the afterlife. and he seems to be the only one who knows about third life.

Scott had had about enough of teaming up with blonde's, and additionally falling for them [which was purely unintentional, believe him!], especially since both of them had promptly betrayed him, one way or another. So, what ever happens in the next game They have planned, it won't include him being teamed with a blonde. Definitely.
Tango had been falling for Scott, though he couldn't quite place since when. Probably Last life, since he was spectating Scott and was awed by his skills and raw power. Especially with his ability to somehow provoke whoever was controlling these games, adding the fact that he would hear praises from Pearl, Cleo and surprisingly Jimmy, who would still rant about Scott, not that he minded, considering he was falling for him.
Scott had already paired up with two blonde's, and it had ended badly for him. [he doesn't need to mention the sleepless nights, crying, eating disorders and much… personal attempts, does he?] but there's still a certain blonde he hadn't paired up with, and why not give it one last chance? You can't judge someone for something others did, can you? So for now, he'll be neutral. After all, what other choice does he have? Pair with his exes? No thanks!

"who are you exactly?" Martyn asked, moving his head off of Mumbo's shoulder to get a better look at the two.
"we're here to stop you, that's what!" the taller one said, seemingly cringing from their own cheesy line.
"I'm sorry what?"
"You heard him right! we're trying to arrest you!" the shorter one repeated.
Mumbo and Martyn looked at each other, looked backed at the newbies, and started laughing in their faces. They couldn't help it, they just found this all so hysterical.

Martyn and Mumbo on the surface just seem like a married couple who run a flower shop. But in reality, they happen to be the (technically retired) villain couple of the Ahasbands. They don't really do mission for their organization anymore, but the hero league still wants to catch them, even if they haven't committed huge crimes in years.
Enter Hotguy and Cuteguy, two newbies assigned to catch the duo together if they want a more permanent position. Even though they hate each-other, and don't wanna be partners, they both still want the job. So they're desperate to catch them, no matter the cost.
