The direct heirs of the Lan Sect are allowed special privileges, much to the amazement of the rest of the cultivation world. Lan Xichen, as the current Sect leader, is responsible for making sure Lan Wangji is well-educated in all areas, just as Lan Qiren had done for him (and, to some extent, also does for Lan Wangji now as well). Lan Wangji wishes his brother and his uncle would leave him alone for just a day or two, but he can't disrespect his elders so he can only submit. It's his duty to bend over for them and allow them to use him whenever they want - no matter how much he despises himself for it.
