Summary
It didn't matter whether or not this was a punishment or a gift. It was an opportunity. He was back in the past, and, as far as he knew, no one else had come back with him. He had the chance to change things.
And to the Void with him if he somehow squandered it. He was going there anyway, so he might as well take Morgoth with him if given the chance.Alternatively, Maedhros awakes in Angband after the Nirnaeth. Except the sun has not yet risen and Morgoth still has all three Silmarils. Embittered by his loss, Maedhros decides that he won't let things happen the same as they did previously, even if it means killing the person he is. After all, he couldn't possibly do worse than how things had ended up before... right?
Chapters will have trigger warnings listed in the A/N at the top of the page. Please be aware that this does have canon-typical violence, torture, and assault, and is a fic depicting a slightly altered version of Maedhros' time in Angband.
Posting will probably be sporadic at best, but I will be posting 2/3, maybe even 4 chapters at a time, so keep an eye out for when I do update!

"Oh good, you slept."
He had not.
"I'll call off Caranthir then."
Maedhros was quite eager to hear the latest report on their herds, actually.

Managing a campaign against an evil god, the politics of a royal family one bad dinner away from another kinslaying, and the mental and physical aftermath of a shitty few decades can be a bit much for even the best of them. Fingon absconds with Maedhros for a lake holiday.Series

Summary
Up the hill, the fort looms with the same gloomy aspect as usual: a squat creature hemmed in anew with a fence many months in the making. Amras wishes that the knowledge of Alexander, safely at home in the stables, and Maitimo, safely—one must suppose—in Maglor’s arms, could be a comfort.
Somehow, it isn’t.

“What of it?” Maedhros laughed harshly. “It’s a wise tactic, and to his advantage. But I cannot please you thus, I’m afraid.”
“Do you think that you mar me?”
Maedhros was silent.

“You stole away like thieves in the night,” Orodreth said, voice raised. Amrod was sure his cheeks were flushed with emotion. He was just and fair, cruel in a true way.
“It is over, between our people. We are different because you have wounded us, and I shall not forget your part in it.” (Orodreth to Amrod, First Age 2)
*After their arrival in Endor, the Nolofinwëan host is invited to stay temporarily in the Fëanárion encampment— too tired to go on.
Amrod comes to ask forgiveness for the abandonment of his closest friend. Perhaps hope had overtaken him, for surely he should have known it would not so easily be received.

This is no place for a child! That’s what everyone keeps telling Tyelperinquar. Adults are so boring, but Middle-earth is not. Tyelperinquar learns that Haru makes the greatest bonfires. True, Moringotto’s troops were frightening at first, but he knows he can fight against them with his favourite uncle if he ever gets a chance.
There’s a place called Angamando that few can escape from. But when they escape, they come to the camp by the lake. And finally the Sun will rise.Or, a Fëanorian childhood in five acts.
